2016.11.26 Getting ready for New Orleans

Expiring Air Miles, that's what trigged our trip to New Orleans. My first airplane trip since I got my titanium bar in my leg so we will see how it goes with the security people at the airport.

We fly Air Canada from Toronto Airport at 2:25 PM arriving at New Orleans Louis Armstrong at 4:30 PM. We were lucky to get a direct flight.

Instead of staying at a hotel, D'Arcy explored Craig's list where he found a delightful guy Brent Conatser who lives in Nashville, Tennessee who is renting out his vacation condo to us for ten days near the French Quarter. Although we never met Brent he talks on the phone with D'Arcy. Brent was nice enough to email us some excellent places to go around New Orleans.

D'Arcy has been in contact with a few musicians and is lining up a few jams to play at. He is bringing his bass. One person, Vic, said that his bass player won't be there the week we are in New Orleans so D'Arcy will fill in for a rehearsal.

We haven't been to New Orleans since 2011, five years after Hurricane Katrina. At that time there was still damage from one of the worst hurricanes in history. We hope it is better this time.
