1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
5 tbsp unsweetened sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 cups graham wafer crumbs
1 cup desiccated coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 cups sifted icing sugar
4 squares semisweet chocolate
1 tbsp butter
Base: Combine butter, sugar, cocoa and egg in medium saucepan. Cook over
medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth and slightly thickened.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, graham crumbs, coconut and walnuts.
Press into greased 9-inch square pan.
Fillling: Cream butter. Gradually beat in icing sugar and egg. Spread over
crumb mixture. Chill about 15 minutes.
Topping: Melt chocolate over water or in microwave on medium (50 per cent
power). Stir in butter until melted. Spread on top of chilled filling.
Chill again until firm before cutting into squares.
Makes 20 squares.
