No-Bake Bars

You can leave the nuts out if you wish,  Just stir an extra half-cup of
water crumbs into the chocolate mixture,  Store bars in the refrigerator.

4 tbsp. butter or margarine
3 tbsp. corn syrup
8 oz. (250 g) semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 1/2 cups graham or vanilla wafer crumbs
1 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts

Melt butter or margarine, corn syrup and chocolate over low heat.  Remove
from heat, stir to blend, then add wafer crumbs and 1/2 cups nuts. Press
mixture into greased 8-inch square pan.  Sprinkle remaining nuts over
surface.  Chill until firm, about 1 hour. Slice and serve.

Makes 24 bars
